Members also heard many residents had deferred council tax payments and there was a worrying fall in business rates. Finance officer Jayne Pickering warned that any increase in unemployment and Universal Claimants could further affect the figures. And the borough is not alone — as a result of the coronavirus pandemic local authorities up and down the country are facing a higher demand for services, lower income and as yet not enough income support from central government, set against a legal obligation to balance their budgets.
It puts many authorities in fear of a Section Notice which would prevent any new spending except to safeguard the vulnerable, provide statutory public health services and meet the critical needs of older people. Structure details are provided to keep you informed of the latest deployment and are updated regularly, however the information is subject to further survey and may be subject to change during the life of the project. Occasionally issues are identified which mean a structure may be delayed or removed from the programme. If your property shows as an orange or blue dot, work is planned and we may be able to provide you with an estimated completion date below.
If your structure is not yet listed, why not register for updates – we’ll contact you once a new structure is live in your area. This is a technically challenging project and we always knew that some areas would be more difficult to reach than others. We have to manage the delivery across the whole of Worcestershire to ensure the best outcome for as many premises as quickly and efficiently as possible, whilst managing the issues and challenges we come across at the same time. They are not ‘deadlines’ for delivery and should not be considered as such.
Whilst some areas appear to slip back in the programme, some structures are being delivered ahead of the anticipated timelines. We frequently highlight issues experienced during the build, such as temporary traffic lights required, road closure requirement which requires a statutory 3 month lead time before we can proceed , wayleave issues e. All of these do impact on delivery of individual structures and are being balanced against the overall delivery objectives.
We understand that this can be frustrating but our goal is to reach as many people as quickly as possible and if, in the meantime, there are opportunities to speed up the process we will do so. Bromsgrove V Birtsmorton V Hanley Castle V

Residents have reacted with anger at plans to turn part of a popular country park in Redditch into a cemetery. The council says it is running out of burial spaces in the town and needs to build the new cemetery on Arrow Valley Country Park. But locals are fuming – saying it is a much-used green space in town and is popular with dog walkers, children and is a haven for wildlife. So far, people have contacted Redditch Borough Council with their views on the scheme – with all but one of them being against the proposals.
The council wants to take 11 acres, just off Ipsley Church Lane in Greenlands, away from the country park and turn it into a cemetery. Eventually it will have between 7, – 8, burial plots.

Turns out it really is one of the factors that makes it a lot worse. Turns out being fit and healthy helps you fight other illnesses and diseases too. COVID was a brush too close for my liking. Boy are they ready. The whole site has undergone a full viral deep clean and internal decoration. The place is sparkling! The same applies to the obesity problem. Me included. Me especially.
